Password Policy Settings

This option is not available in all accounts. To add this feature, contact your sales representative.

The Password Policy page of the Settings dialog box is used to specify the password policy that is applied to all accounts, including minimum/maximum password length, complexity rules and password expiration intervals.

Minimum Length:

Specifies the minimum number of characters that passwords must contain.

Maximum Length:

Specifies the maximum number of characters that passwords can contain.

Minimum Uppercase:

Specifies the minimum number of uppercase characters (Latin Alphabet Uppercase) that passwords must contain.

Minimum Digits:

Specifies the minimum number of numerical characters (ASCII Digits) that passwords must contain.

Minimum Symbols:

Specifies the minimum number of symbol characters (ASCII Punctuation) that passwords must contain. These include characters such as !@, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (, ), -, +, {, }.

Password Reuse

Select this check box to view or set a password re-use policy (configured using the setting immediately below).

Cannot re-use the
previous [N] passwords

Specifies the number of previously used passwords that cannot be re-used. Set to a high number, for example, 1000, to prevent previous passwords being re-used (within reason), or set to zero to bypass re-use restrictions and allow any previously set passwords to be used again, including the last password configured for an account.
