This topic lists information about previous releases of Verizon Connect® WorkPlan™ and what has been improved or fixed in each version.

WorkPlan v4.0

New Features and Enhancements

The Log Out button on the WorkPlan Home screen has been replaced by a User button , which allows you to log out and manage multiple co-drivers and WorkPlan users using the same device. (Applicable only to customer accounts with the co-driver option.)
The co-driver and WorkPlan user management has been improved. (Applicable only to customer accounts with the co-driver option.)
The vehicle selection list now shows whether there is a WiFi or Bluetooth connection to the vehicles in the vehicle selection list and orders the vehicles in the list firstly by signal strength, secondly by proximity, and thirdly alphabetically by name.
The vehicle selection list can now be filtered by name.
You now have the option to upgrade the Hours of Service module to use WorkPlan as an electronic logging device (ELD) to help with ELD compliance. If you use Hours of Service version 3.2 you get the following improvements:
oEngine speed is used to detect whether a vehicle is in motion or not. For non-ELD compliant users it is still possible to detect vehicle motion using GPS, but engine speed is used in preference.
oImproved recording of HOS events, such as engine on and off, vehicle motion detection, status changes and violations.
oAn Inspector mode that can be used by road side inspectors to view HOS logs and other details in a simplified, read-only interface.
oMalfunction and diagnostic event indicators that help you troubleshoot hardware issues and indicate when you need to use paper logs to stay compliant.
oAn In Motion mode that is displayed while your vehicle is moving.
oSupport for a general exemption, which exempts drivers from some ELD requirements.
oSupport for a 16-hour exemption, which allows drivers to be on duty for a 16-hour time period.
oImproved UI for confirming logs.
oA Shipment Information screen has replaced the Summary screen displayed when you log in to WorkPlan.
oSupport for sharing your HOS logs via email.
oImprovements to the Personal Conveyance and Yard Move modes.
oDrivers are required to add mandatory comments when adding or editing an event.
oDrivers are permitted to add comments to events that may not be edited.
oA notification is displayed when drivers who are using the Federal 60 or Federal 70 rule sets complete their required 30 minute rest break.
oThe Info link on the HOS Status screen has been removed, because this information is no longer relevant.
oThe Kiosk Settings have been moved from the Info screen to the Actions menu on the HOS Status screen. (Applicable only to standalone versions of Hours of Service running in a web browser.)
oIt is now possible for users (usually administrators) to sign HOS logs without having a vehicle assigned.
oGeneral user interface improvements.

WorkPlan v3.9

New Features and Enhancements

The UI design for forms has been improved to help identify when changes to a form have been made.
Support for resetting your password from the Login screen has been added.
Support for logins from different geographical locations has been added.
Drivers license number and state have been added to the Driver Details screen.
Support for the non-CDL short-haul exemption has been added to the Hours of Service module.
Improvements have been made to the HOS log certification process.
A notification is now displayed if drivers using Hours of Service have completed their 30-minute rest break. This is only applicable to drivers who are using a rule set that requires 30-minute rest breaks.
The name of the Options menu on the HOS Status screen has been changed to Actions.
A warning is now shown when drivers log in and there is unsynchronized data for a previously logged in user.
The indicator for not having a vehicle assigned was made more prominent in the UI.

WorkPlan v3.8

New Features and Enhancements

Drivers can be automatically assigned to a vehicle, if the vehicle has a VaaH unit installed and there is a WiFi connection from the driver's WorkPlan device to the VaaH unit.
Improvements have been made to help prevent WorkPlan from closing down when it is running in the background on an Android device.
A notification is displayed in the notification area when WorkPlan is running (in the foreground and background).
Form fields can expand to contain multiple lines of text.
You can now save and edit draft forms that contain multiple photos.
Lists of forms are now consistently sorted alphabetically.
Support for Florida rules has been added to the Hours of Service (HOS) module.
Drivers can use Personal Conveyance mode to use a vehicle for authorized personal trips without the driving time counting towards their HOS limits.
Drivers can use Yard Move mode to maneuver their vehicles around a yard without the driving time counting towards their HOS limits.
A Verizon Connect® Coach™ scorecard can now display a goal on the circular chart, if this has been defined by the fleet administrator. A goal is the score that every driver in the particular team should aim to achieve.
Drivers can use the non-CDL short-haul exemption, which exempts them from some of the normal HOS rules, if the drivers meet certain criteria.
Improvements to the Hours of Service module, including the user interface and the process of reviewing and certifying HOS logs.

WorkPlan v3.7

New Features and Enhancements

Standard forms can now be saved as drafts. These drafts can later be retrieved from the Forms or Job screen, and the drafts can be edited, saved, submitted or deleted.
Submitted forms can be opened as read-only forms from the Forms screen.
Custom attributes that your administrator has defined and assigned to a marker in the Verizon Connect platform, are now visible for jobs to this marker in WorkPlan.
When required to enter your HOS event location manually, you can now specify your depot, your current work reporting location, or any address.
It is now possible to set a fixed HOS event location.
To be eligible for the 16-hour and 100 air-mile radius exemptions, you must start and end your work shift at the same location for five consecutive work shifts, but the location can be either your depot, your normal work reporting location, or any other location.

 

WorkPlan v3.6

New Features and Enhancements

Multiple DVIR forms can now be listed in the New On Demand DVIR section of the DVIR screen, if your administrator has added more than one DVIR form to the vehicle you are assigned to.
The Coach icon on the Home screen has been updated.
Oilfield options can be enabled and disabled from within the Hours of Service (HOS) module.
Rule sets can be changed from within the Hours of Service module.
Canadian rule sets are now supported within the Hours of Service module.
The display of the 100 air-mile exemption violation text has been improved. If the 100 air-mile exemption is violated, the text "100 air-mile radius exemption" is no longer displayed with a strike through it. It is now displayed in red with an exclamation mark at the end.
An issue has been corrected that caused drivers to remain in the On Duty status, if they were logged out automatically due to login restrictions being enforced. Drivers are now automatically assigned a status of Off Duty, after a forced logout.
A new icon now indicates a 24 hour reset for a work cycle within an oilfield.
There is a new version of Mobile Messaging that allows drivers and supervisors to send messages to each other. Text-to-speech is supported for high priority messages.

 
WorkPlan v3.5

New Features and Enhancements

Hours of Service (HOS):

Drivers can now enable an HOS exemption if they stay within a 100 air-mile radius of their depot. For more information see Enabling the 100 Air-Mile Exemption.
Drivers are now able to press and hold on icons on the home screen to get a popup with the title of that icon.
When drivers enter the odometer value on the daily summary screen they now get a custom number-pad to be able to enter decimal points on any device.
 

Status:

Drivers can now select a vehicle from within the Status work flow.
 

Other Features:

Some elements in a form can now be configured to automatically pre-populate without the driver needing to enter the values themselves.
German language support has been added.

Bug Fixes / Technical Release Notes

Hours of Service (HOS):

Buttons on the home screen no longer become locked in the "pressed" state when they are pressed at the same time as other buttons on the screen.
It is no longer possible for drivers to go into Driving or Sleeper Berth modes when they have selected "No Vehicle".
