User Details Tab

The User Details tab is displayed when you add or select a mobile user from the Mobile Tools screen. It automatically creates or updates a driver and associated subuser and allows you to define which mobile apps and features the user has access to.


 

Depending on the way in which your account is configured the User Details tab can include the following information:

Nickname:

The name of the mobile user. A driver with the same name is automatically created when this mobile user is added. You can add more details about the driver on the Driver Details dialog box.

First Name:

The driver's first name. This field is required for drivers using WorkPlan as an ELD.

Last Name:

The driver's last name. This field is required for drivers using WorkPlan as an ELD.

Mobile Phone Number:

The user's mobile phone number.

Email Address:

The email address to use for sending email-based messages to the mobile user.

Username:

The username that is used for signing into the mobile apps. A subuser with the same name is automatically created when this mobile user is added. You can add more details about the subuser, for example, roles or rights, in the subuser's User dialog box.

Depots / Base Markers:

The depot (marker) where this mobile user is based.

Hierarchy:

The team within the hierarchy that the mobile user belongs to. Applicable if you are using the Hierarchy.

Team:

The teams that the mobile user belongs to. You can add more than one existing team. Applicable if you are using Fleets and Teams.

Roles:

The roles that the mobile user has. You can add more than one role per user.

Can access the Fleet platform

Indicates if the mobile user can sign in to the platform.

Has restricted access windows

Indicates if the mobile user's access to WorkPlan is restricted.

This setting consists of a check box only. Depending on your account settings, you might see the full Restrict Access setting that allows you to define the time range and days when users can access WorkPlan.

Assignable Vehicles:

A list of all vehicles that this mobile user can be assigned to. A driver can assign themselves to one of the vehicles from within WorkPlan or you can assign a driver to one of the vehicles.

License No:

The mobile user's driver's license number. This field is required for drivers using WorkPlan as an ELD.

State:

The state that the mobile user's driver's license was issued in. This field is required for drivers using WorkPlan as an ELD.

Class:

The driver's license class.

Expires:

The date when the driver's license expires.

Mobile Configuration Profile:

Indicates which mobile configuration to use.

 

Select "Account Default" if the mobile user should have the same mobile settings as defined for the account in the Settings dialog box.
Select "Custom" if you want to change any of the mobile settings for this user. The settings listed below become visible and can be modified individually.

Language:

The spoken language where the mobile user resides. This affects how the user interface is displayed for this user.

Country:

The country where the mobile user resides. This affects how the user interface is displayed for this user.

Time Zone:

The time zone where the mobile user resides. This affects how information about time is displayed for this user.

Restrict Access:

Indicates if the mobile user's access to WorkPlan is restricted. When set to "On", you can select the time range and days when the user has access to WorkPlan.

Depending on your account settings, you might see the simpler Has restricted access windows setting that consists of a check box only.

GPS Tracking:

Indicates whether location tracking using the mobile web device (for example, smart phone or tablet) is on or off. Turn this setting off if the user's vehicle is equipped with a tracking hardware unit.

Show Vehicles on Login:

Indicates if this mobile user is asked to select a vehicle immediately after signing in to WorkPlan, if not already assigned. If set to "Off", the Show Vehicles on Home Screen option should be turned "On".

Show Vehicles on Home Screen:

Indicates if the Vehicle button is shown on the WorkPlan Home screen, allowing mobile users to unassign themselves from their current vehicle, or switch their assigned vehicle to another vehicle. If set to "Off", the Show Vehicles on Login option should be turned "On".

Must Unassign Vehicle on Logout:

Indicates if the currently-assigned vehicle is automatically unassigned from the mobile user when signing out. When set to "Off", the vehicle is not automatically unassigned. If you are using WorkPlan as an ELD, you must set this option to "On".

Jobs Enabled:

Indicates if the Jobs feature is enabled in WorkPlan for this mobile user. When enabled, the Jobs menu option is available from the Home screen.

Driver Initiated Status:

Indicates if the status of a job is updated when a mobile user marks a job as "Complete". When set to "On", users need to mark a job as "Complete" for the job's status to be updated. When set to "Off", jobs are automatically set to "Complete" when the jobs monitor detects that the user's assigned vehicle has left the job.

Driver Can Reject Jobs:

Indicates if this mobile user can manually reject jobs or not.

Forms Enabled:

Indicates if the Forms feature is enabled in WorkPlan for this mobile user. When enabled, the Forms menu option is available from the Home screen.

HOS Enabled:

Indicates if hours of service support is enabled in WorkPlan for this mobile user. When set to "On", the HOS menu option is available from the Home screen.

Rule Type:

The default rules that should be used for checking for hours of service violations by this mobile user. These can be US Federal rules, rules set by a specific US state, or Canada South rules.

Enable Co-Driver:

Indicates if support for co-drivers is enabled.

HOS Oilfield:

Indicates whether the option to show whether a vehicle could be used an oilfield is enabled or not. When set to "On" and a vehicle is at an oilfield, users can mark their off-duty time as waiting at a well site, which is added to their off-duty event. If users are using HOS version 2.x, an additional HOS status called "Waiting" is added to the Hours of Service app's HOS Status screen instead.

HOS Warnings:

Indicates if a pop-up warning is displayed if remaining in the current status causes an Hours of Service event. This warning allows drivers to change status to avoid events.

Status Notes:

Indicates if this mobile user can add notes when changing the HOS status.

User Can Edit Events:

Indicates if this mobile user can edit events in the HOS graph (see the Verizon Connect® WorkPlan™ help for more information).

HOS Alert Prior to Violation:

The time before a warning is displayed if remaining in the current status causes an HOS violation to occur for this mobile user. See the "HOS Warnings" section of the Verizon Connect® WorkPlan™ help. Available range is 5 minutes to 180 minutes.

Show Time Remaining on Status Change:

Indicates if a warning popup should be displayed when an HOS status is changed, indicating the time remaining in the new status before a violation occurs.

Login Status Change:

(Applicable to HOS v2.x users only) Indicates if the driver's status is automatically set to On Duty when the driver first signs in. When set to "Off", signing in has no effect on the driver's status (it remains on the last status that was set).

Logout Status Change:

(Applicable to HOS v2.x users only) Indicates if the driver's status is automatically set to Off Duty when the driver signs out. When set to "Off", signing out has no effect on the driver's status (it remains on the last status that was set).

Allow Switch from Off Duty to Driving:

(Applicable to HOS v2.x users only) Indicates if the HOS status can automatically change from Off Duty to Driving when the vehicle starts moving. When set to "On", the status changes automatically when the vehicle starts moving. When set to "Off", the status does not change automatically to Driving if the driver is Off Duty and the vehicle starts moving. The driver needs to manually change the status to On Duty first, before the user’s status is automatically changed to Driving when the vehicle starts moving.

Show Sensor Failures:

(Applicable to HOS v2.x users only) Indicates whether to display sensor failure indicators in the Chart and Event List views of the Hours of Service app. When set to "On", a Sensor indicator can be displayed in the Chart and Event List views. The sensor failure check is for GPS quality/lock for vehicles not equipped with VaaH, or poor data quality for vehicles equipped with VaaH.

Can Switch Ruleset:

(Applicable to HOS v2.x users only) Indicates if mobile users can switch the HOS rule set from within WorkPlan. If enabled, the user can change the rule set defined in the setting Rule Type described above.

Can Enable Oilfield:

(Applicable to HOS v2.x users only) Indicates if mobile users can turn oilfield options on or off from within WorkPlan. If enabled, the user can override the setting HOS Oilfield described above.

Can Use 100 Mile Exemption:

Indicates if mobile users can use the 100 air-mile radius exemption within WorkPlan. If enabled, the user can enable or disable the 100 air-mile radius exemption, which applies different HOS rules, if drivers stay within a 100 air-mile radius of their depot.

Can Use Non-CDL Short-Haul Exemption:

Indicates if mobile users can use the non-CDL short-haul exemption within WorkPlan. If enabled, the user can enable or disable the non-CDL short-haul exemption, which applies different HOS rules, if drivers drive a vehicle that does not require a commercial drivers license, stay within a 150 air-mile radius of a specific location and return to that location after each shift.

Can Use Yard Move:

Indicates if mobile users can use Yard Move mode. This mode allows drivers to maneuver their vehicle around a yard, for example, at a customer site or at their depot, without the driving time counting towards their HOS limits.

Can Use Personal Conveyance:

Indicates if mobile users can use Personal Conveyance mode. This mode allows drivers to make authorized personal trips without the driving time counting towards their HOS limits.

Can Use Unregulated Driving:

Indicates if a mobile user can operate in Unregulated Driving mode. When in this mode, the driver is not required to comply with Hours of Service regulations. When enabled, automatic driving detection is disabled, and the driver's day is classified only as 'working'.

Can Use General Exemption:

Enable or disable the ability to use the general exemption within WorkPlan. If enabled, the mobile user can enable or disable the general exemption, which exempts drivers from complying with certain ELD regulations. If this is enabled, you must provide a General Exemption Reason. This option is applicable only if you are using WorkPlan as an ELD.

General Exemption Reason:

The reason for this mobile user being exempt from certain ELD regulations. This must be provided if Can Use General Exemption is enabled. This option is applicable only if you are using WorkPlan as an ELD.

DVIR Enabled:

Indicates if default support for driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) in WorkPlan is enabled. When set to "On", the DVIR menu option is available from the Home screen.

Vehicle Inspection Report:

Indicates if a DVIR is displayed to the mobile user, and if so, when it is displayed. Available options are:

 

No Inspection - No vehicle inspection report is launched automatically, or required.
Pre Inspection - A vehicle inspection report must be filled out and signed when a user first signs in.
Post Inspection - A vehicle inspection report must be filled out and signed when a user signs out.
Pre and Post Inspection - A vehicle inspection report must be filled out and signed both when signing in and when signing out.
On Demand Inspection - Vehicle inspection reports must be explicitly launched. When choosing this option, you must also be sure that DVIR is set to "On", so that the driver can launch the inspection report. Otherwise, this option is the same as "No Inspection".

Max DVIR Forms to Save:

The maximum number of previously-submitted inspection reports that can be displayed on the mobile user's DVIR screen. The DVIR screen lists up to this number of the most recently submitted inspections. Available range is between 1 and 14, with a default of 5.

Messaging Enabled:

Indicates if default support for instant text messaging is enabled between this mobile user's mobile device and the server.

Navigation Enabled:

Indicates if default support for point-to-point mapping and navigation is enabled on this mobile user's device. When enabled, the Navigation menu option is available from the WorkPlan Home screen. See Navigation GE Management for information on additional Navigation GE settings.

Allow Driver Override of Routing Behavior:

Applicable to Navigation. Indicates if users are allowed to change the routing behavior settings (for example, allowing u-turns) from within the Navigation app and override the defaults set for the account.

Announce Speed Alerts:

Applicable to Navigation. Indicates if the user should be audibly alerted every 60 seconds when the speed is more than 5% higher than the allowed speed limit.

Night Mode:

Applicable to Navigation. Indicates if the screen display should change to make it easier to read when driving at night: the amount of light displayed on the screen is reduced and the color contrast in increased. This can be turned on or off, or set to "Automatic", to automatically switch night mode on at sunset and switch it off at sunrise.

Coach Enabled:

Indicates if default support for the Verizon Connect® Coach™ driver scorecard plug-in is enabled for this user's account. When enabled, the Coach menu option is available from the WorkPlan Home screen.

Realtime Coach:

Indicates if support for real-time coach data is enabled. When enabled, the Verizon Connect® Coach™ application immediately alerts drivers of behavior that requires correction, potentially before these events are sent to the driver scorecard server.

Show Driver Names on Leaderboard:

Indicates if the display of driver names on the Verizon Connect® Coach™ leaderboard is enabled. When enabled, driver names are shown on the leaderboard table. When disabled, drivers remain anonymous.

Status:

Indicates if default support for the Verizon Connect® Status™ work flow template plug-in is enabled. When enabled, the Status menu option is available from the WorkPlan Home screen.

Workflow Template:

The default driver status workflow template.

Trips Enabled:

Indicates if support for the Verizon Connect® Trips app is enabled. This is a separate app that is not part of WorkPlan. It allows drivers to classify their trips as either personal or business.
